A revolution in care and therapy
MiS Micro-Stimulation®
Form of therapy: MiS Micro-Stimulation
The cooperation between body and mind
Traditional conceptions in nursing of the 20th century.
-
the brain, once developed and mature, does not change further.
-
no new neurons and no new synapses are formed in the brain of an adult human.
-
there is a static and inflexible connection between the body and the brain.
Modern insightsinto the adaptability of the brain
-
Neuronal connections (synapses) change throughout life: daily, weekly & monthly.
-
Modern studies prove that all body regions are represented in the brain. This body image can change in the short term, adapt and react to physical changes.
-
Pain, however, can also have a significant impact on brain structure, leading to negative changes.
-
Lack of sensory information affects the regular body structure in the brain after only a few days and leads to effects in the normal movement process.
-
A healthy body image is the basis for an intact movement process.
The importance of body image
MiS Micro-Stimulation: The solution to many problems
This is exactly where the principle of action of MiS Micro-Stimulation begins: Tiny movements of a person - even one's own breathing movement - are converted into microfine counter-movements and thus automatically provide the brain with urgently needed body information. MiS Micro-Stimulation combines the successful principles of various therapeutic approaches (Bobath, basal stimulation, kinesthetics, etc.).
This offers the following benefits:
-
Preservation of body perception: These microfine countermovements are detected by the body's sensors and transmitted to the brain to support the body image. Among other things, they promote the patient's own movement, improve blood circulation to the skin, relieve pain, prevent pressure ulcers and promote wound healing.
-
Restful sleep: Especially for people with mobility impairments, this has been shown to contribute to more restful sleep.
MiS Micro-Stimulation Systems:
A mattress alone can't do it!
In order to optimally implement the active principle of MiS Micro-Stimulation in a system, more than just a foam mattress is required. A high-tech underspringing made of glass fiber - which can absorb the patient's own micro-fine movements and convert them into counter-movements - is optimally combined with a mattress (special foam formulation) and adapted to the indication, size and weight of the patient. All aspects of the latest sleep and care research are taken into account. Thus, a MiS Mirco stimulation system naturally includes the characteristics of an optimal bed climate, minimization of shear forces, optimal pressure relief and promotion of self-mobility.
Of course, there are also limits to micro-stimulation: even if it supports and promotes healing in many clinical pictures, in some indications it can only contribute to an improvement of the peripheral symptoms. But even in these cases - e.g. in dementia diseases - the improvement of the general condition, a possible reduction of medication and a clearly improved receptivity have been observed very successfully over years. It is not without reason that caregivers in many countries speak of "the miracle mattress" when they enthusiastically report their experiences in using MiS Mirco stimulation systems.
